I am from River Falls, WI, but lived in Minneapolis for three years before coming to Iowa State. (I also lived a few places before moving to River Falls.)

I graduated in 2006 from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a B.S. in Mathematics and that summer I married my wife Megan.

I worked for 2.5 years at Watson Wyatt Worldwide (now Towers Watson) as a pension administrator and actuarial analyst.  I have passed three actuarial exams (P, FM, and MLC).
