Project Overview

I chose the Lake House, designed by Stanley Saitowotz because I admire the minimalist style, the transparency, and the integration into the site. The simple form makes the modeling in Revit simple, allowing me to be more detailed in furniture, lighting, and materials. Of of the most attractive elements of this house is the waterfall that flows into a pond. The water feature really makes this model strong. After finishing the model, I went through and created schedules for doors, walls, lighting, furniture, and other materials. After some research, specifically through RS Means Costworks, I estimate $168/sq.ft. This is a little high for residential, but it is a custom home with a waterfall, so it is a reasonable price. With 4430 sq. ft the total cost is $744240.
