I spend a fair amount of time in professional development, pursuing training, serving on committees, and
I'm serving as the 08/09 Phorum president. Phorum is an organization representing english graduate students at Iowa State University. We serve as an advocate for graduate students, provide academic support, and maintain social connections.
Iowa State University's ISUComm initiative includes an agressive program for ongoing training and workshops for teachers. Seminars occur on a regular basis, and I take advantage of them as often as my schedule allows.
