The purpose
of this document is for you to demonstrate your understanding of the
slots in proposals and the use of those slots in preparing an
effective argument for a change in policy.
Write a
proposal in which you request a change in policy for an agency,
organization, or group. For this proposal, you have the option to
select a real situation for which to propose the change, or you can
create a fictional scenario for the policy change. This should be a
group project, but individual projects can be “proposed” to the
instructor.
You
should write a full proposal containing all of the parts and
elements that we discuss in class. Your proposal must be submitted
with an
Audience and Purpose Analysis and an
Annotated Bibliography for the sources that you used in your
research process if these document represent an important part of
your writing process.
The
Proposal must contain
·
A
clear statement of the current problem,
·
All
slots as discussed in class,
·
Annotated Bibliography (possibly), and
·
Audience and purpose analysis (possibly).
Your
proposal must be turned in with the Audience and Purpose Analysis
and Annotated Bibliography stapled at the end of the proposal.
Be sure
to review your topic and approach with your instructor before
writing the proposal.
