To obtain an internship in the computing field.
Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa
Major: Computer Science
Graduation Date: May 2003
Through class work, I have been exposed to C, C++, SQL, and MIPS assembly. Of these four, I feel most comfortable with C and C++.
I have also dabbled in Java, Objective-C, Prolog, Scheme, Perl, Ruby, Smalltalk, Pascal, Fortran, Postscript, JavaScript, COBOL, HTML, SVG, and TeX. For the most part, this dabbling has consisted of writing a couple of small demo applications. I feel fairly confident with Java and HTML, however.
Iowa State Department of Physics and Astronomy, Summer 2000 - present
Research assistant.
Worked with the ISU contingent of the PHENIX team of Brookhaven's Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider.
Wrote C++ macros and classes for use with CERN's ROOT, "an object-oriented data analysis framework."
The Gilbert Post, Spring 1998 - present
Java linkware programmer.
I have programmed six Java applets as linkware for The Gilbert Post. The Gilbert Post is an independent, student-run paper of Gilbert High School, Gilbert, Iowa. In exchange for the use of a linkware applet, Web masters agree to add links to The Gilbert Post to their sites. Three of my linkware applets, JulianCodeApplet, SiteSearcher, and SearchToHTML have been Applet of the Week on the JavaBoutique, http://javaboutique.internet.com/. In connection with my linkware applets, I have responded to many questions, bug reports, and feature requests from users from around the world.
