Nothingness

He's floating. The warm lake water buoys him up. He has never been so relaxed before.

"Is this what it feels like not to exist?" he asks the goddess.

"No," she says. "Here, I will let you experience nothingness for youself."

He disappears from the water leaving a man-shaped pattern of ripples.

He reappears. "Well? When are you going to show me?"

The goddess rolls her eyes. "All right, again."

He disappears.

He reappears. "Well?" he says. "I thought I was going to experience nothingness."

"You have," she says.

"No, I haven't."

"Fine," she says.

He disappears and never comes back.
