I pursue research and teaching in the fields of conservation biology, landscape ecology, global climate change, wildlife biology, and restoration ecology.

Some of my current research projects include:
- patch-burn grazing approaches to prairie restoration (note this website is still partially under construction)
- restoring prairie habitats that have incurred biodiversity loss. For a new book describing my research on this topics see "The Prairie Builders: Reconstructing America's Lost Grasslands" by Sneed Collard
- testing the use of GIS and remote sensing data in predicting species distributions in montane meadows under present day and global climate change scenarios. GYE website
