Chelsea Berns
I am in the second year of my PhD in the Adams lab. I
am interested in bill morphology of hummingbirds (Apodiforms: Trochilidae).
Generally, I am interested in the evolution of sexual dimorphism in
bill size and shape, as related to behavior and foraging strategies.
I am particularly interested in quantifying the evolution of phenoytpic
changes and sexual shape dimorphism in bill shape within several wide-ranging
species in North America, and relating these biogeographic patterns
in sexual dimorphism to evolutionary trends across the Trochilids.
