This is where graphical content, often known as pictures, is located. Pun Doodles: These are pretty much puns. Or at least similar to puns. Those with AD in the title I drew when bored in Academic Decathlon (pretty much every time I go). Every one is a phrase that came up that day. A warning: it will probably help if you are easily amused. AD Grant Wood: I'm sure you've heard of Grant Wood. No? He is a painter from the Midwest, he painted American Gothic. You know, that painting with that old guy with a pitchfork and that old lady who looks like his wife but is actually his daughter? AD Trip to Chicago: Our AD team is taking a trip to Chicago to look at the art pieces in the competition, all of which are at the Art Institute of Chicago. AD Great Wave: One of the art pieces is Great Wave of Kamuihuihachukamonkeygobonaicantrememberthewordalay. It's a tsunami. AD Armature: This was something in art section. I can't remember what exactly though... AD First Form of Communication: The person telling us about art referred to it as the first form of communication. I disagree. AD Incentive: We were talking about economics, and of course economic incentive came up. Now I don't know about you but this is pretty good incentive for most people... AD Free Enterprise: We were talking about economics again and the topic of different market forms came up. Free enterprise leaped out at me. AD Time Signature: Hopefully everybody knows what a time signature is, but just in case you don't, it's those two little numbers at the beginning of a piece of music that play a part in telling musicians how fast to play (along with the tempo). AD Relative Frequency: This is something in statistics. Don't worry about it, just know it's a math term. It was torn in half when I got here: Okay, so I didn't technically draw, this, Brad did, and it isn't technically a pun... but it is technically funny. So this seemed like a good place for it. Backgrounds These are backgrounds I have made. Unless otherwise noted I made them from scratch all by my lonesome. Most will be in both 1024x768 and 800x600 resolutions, but if there is only one of a file then the original 1024x768 version is small enough to fit on a 800x600 display. Title(resolution)(size): Description. Amoeba (1024x768)(84Kb), (800x600)(82Kb): This is quite possibly my best work. A simple quote that sums it up: "Whoa, that's the shit." Blue Blob (33Kb): I shifted ideas halfway through this project, and ended up with something quite different from my first idea, and only similar to my second, but probably better than both. Blue Spin (56Kb): This is a very simple, yet very beautiful example of what math is good for. Facewound (104x768)(Kb), (800x600)(Kb): I drew this and then scanned it, and then made it look better. Doesn't it look better? Yes, David, it looks great. Focus (29Kb): This one's pretty simple on the surface, but if you look closely there's more going on than first appears. Glowmandu (1024x768)(170Kb), (800x600)(117Kb): For some reason this reminds me of the matrix. Sorry about the file size, but some of these are just so detailed you can't do much about it. Glow Snake (1024x768)(27Kb), (800x600)(17Kb): This one is really dark, my friend said, "That's really cool, it's look like a... a um... well I don't know but it sure looks like something." Green Ripple (1024x768)(49Kb), (800x600)(27Kb): Just as it says, it's a ripple... a green one. Liz's Eye (1024x768)(8Kb), (800x600)(6Kb): This is a genuine photo of Liz's eye, from very close up. I only modified the coloring, her eye really is that perfectly shaped. Neuron Map (26Kb): The hardest thing about this one was probably naming it. Eventually Vedran said it looked kind of like a map, and I decided it kind of looked like neurons with an extensive dendrite network, so there you have it. Puddle 1 (27Kb): Abstract white on black... kind of reminds me of a puddle. Puddle 2 (51Kb): Same as Puddle 1, but different. Radioactive Jeans (1024x768)(218Kb), (800x600)(138Kb): Now before you cower before the gigantic freakin' file sizes let me explain. This is a very complicated image. I put it on 0 percent quality compression and it was still over 100Kb. So I figured if you're going to be waiting a minute for the image, you might as well see a good image. Red Tide (1024x768)(179Kb), (800x600)(123Kb): Reddish water kind of silky stuff thing... yeah. Scatter (1024x768)(198Kb), (800x600)(68Kb): Because of the nature of the piece, semi-transparent lines with a minor zoom motion blur, there is a very interesting effect when you move your head towards or away from the screen at at least a moderate speed. Smoke (3Kb): This one turned out really well. It's kind of like Tool's smokebox graphic. I'm proud. Tentacles (1024x768)(39Kb), (800x600)(34Kb): Not those kind of tentacles! Tool Baby (1024x768)(59Kb), (800x600)(39Kb): For this one I had two original graphics. The first was Tool's logo in the middle, which I slightly modified (mainly the coloring), and the other was the baby on the side. I got the baby from happypencil.com, which is the home site of a guy who does a lot of art for Tool. I greatly intesified the glow between the baby's hands that was in the picture, and added the effect where you can see through it's hand to its bones. Warp Space (1024x768)(61Kb), (800x600)(41Kb): Admire the blue on black. Wonder at the intricate twirling and swirlings of an endless universe viewed at high speeds... that actually only looks a little bit like what I just described, but you still need to wonder at the intricate swirlings. Photos These are what some people might call true pictures. Me Shoes, Mark 2: These are the shoes I currently wear. The only other pair of shoes I have is Me Shoes, Mark 1. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of those... yet. Marble: This is my late dog Marble. Typically enough, she's chewing on something. Harness Rock: It's a rock. And a shoelace. Why are you looking at me like that? Lizhouette: This is a silhouette made from a picture of Liz before a dance. Don't worry, she has legs, they just weren't in the picture so I cut out some of the dress on both sides of the bottom to make a nice curve to match Liz's, instead of a harsh straight edge. | ||
