I am a Professor in Physics and Astronomy Dept at ISU.

Some details about my daily work are on my Facebook page

My background is that I was born and raised in New Zealand, completed my undergraduate degree at University of Canterbury, NZ where one of favorite memories was holding Rutherford's Nobel Prize medal before it was locked away in a safe. I completed by PhD at University of Birmingham, UK and have worked at MSU (Michigan), GSI (Germany), and MIT (Cambridge) .

I am very happy to talk to anyone about any of these places!

More details on my professional background can be found in my CV (pdf Nov 2008), while my current list of publications can be found via spires.

On a more personal level, I have run four marathons with a PR of 3 hours and 46 min. I currently coach soccer and am an avid fan of cricket. I played cricket for both Canterbury and Birmingham university teams as a student athlete, and in my now-distant youth represented New Zealand in the U19 cricket team.
