Teaching Experience:	Gustav-Gertrude-Peter C. Seeck Fellowship – Department of Agronomy, Ames, Iowa Crops Teaching Fellow, Fall 2006 – Current Agronomy 114 – Principles of Agronomy Teaching responsibilities include monitoring learning center, administering quizzes, addressing student questions, and developing unit materials. Agronomy 212 – Grain and Forage Crops Instructor for laboratory section with 20 students each semester. Teaching responsibilities include preparing a 15-20 minute lecture to explain important concepts, addressing student questions, developing and administering unit quizzes, and grading study questions while providing suggestions for improvement.
	Iowa State University – Academic Success Center, Ames, Iowa Undergraduate Tutor, Spring 2005 Tutored six undergraduate students on the principles of genetics for Agronomy 320. Developed practice problems, study guides, and addressed student questions.
	Daniel Cramer – Department of English, Ames, Iowa Volunteer Teaching Assistant, Fall 2003 – Spring 2005 Assisted instructor in Composition and Business Communications courses by addressing student questions during in-class workdays.

Research Experience:	Iowa State University – Department of Agronomy, Ames, Iowa Graduate Research Assistant, May 2006 - Current Undergraduate Research Assistant, October 2005 - May 2006 Conducting research for Masters’ thesis on sweet sorghum production methods for biomass production. Field experiment consists of multivariable treatments and variety trials to determine maximum biomass yields. Laboratory experiment consists of enzymatic breakdown of structural carbohydrates into fermentable sugars through ensiling.
	Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., Johnston, Iowa Research Worker, June 2005 – October 2005 Gained comprehensive experience with transgenic field research related to product development in the plant biotech industry. Managed tissue sampling and phenotypic data collection activities supporting maize transgenic product development research.
	Iowa State University – Department of Agronomy, Ames, Iowa Undergraduate Research Assistant, August 2004 – May 2005 Assisted soybean breeding group with fall operations while learning the necessities of a successful soybean breeding program.
	Iowa State University - Grain Quality Laboratory, Ames, Iowa Laboratory Technician, September 2002 - August 2004 Analyzed the chemical and physical properties of grain with whole-grain, near infrared analyzers.
	Garst Seed Company - QA Department, Slater, Iowa Pollination Crew Leader, Summer 2003 Managed field data collection and hand pollination of breeders’ nursery in addition to conducting laboratory-based genetic testing.
