Over 16 years of administrative experience in accounting, personnel, conference/event management and computer support at Iowa State University.Completed one-year administrative program at Des Moines Area Community College immediately after high school.Started Iowa State University classes in the College of Business a few years ago and continue to take 3-6 credits per semester.Admitted to MIS professional program Spring of 2000, with ISU.


10/97-7/02Virtual Reality Applications Center

·Assist in preparation of contract proposals:budget, goldsheets, various reports, etc.

·Reconcile and keep abreast on approximately 40 accounts per year ($2M+).Work with faculty who have sponsored funding in VRAC to make sure money is spent appropriately to adhere with governmental regulations and in accordance with restricted timelines. 

·Initiate electronic personnel forms for all full- and part-time employees in the Center.

·Work extensively with accounts receivables and payables.

·Arrange tours for C2 and C6 on a daily basis.

·Supervise part-time secretary and undergraduate office assistant.

·Initiated and continue to maintain databases for VRAC proposals submitted, rejected and awarded; graduate and undergraduate student employees; and an address book of various contacts.

5/96-10/97University Conference Services

·Responsible for maintaining accounts and preparing special reports as needed. 

·Acted as ISU host for visiting organizations, such as Odyssey of the Mind, Special Olympics and the Iowa Games.

·Maintained UCS web page and assisted in development of City of Ames/Iowa State Meeting Planner's Guide.

·Trained and supervised students hired on a temporary basis to assist with special events. 

·Attended meetings on behalf of director and worked with various University departments such as FP&M, Rec Services, Memorial Union and Residence Halls. 

1995-96ISU Provost Office

·Answered main telephone and greeted public. Remained informed of university policies and procedures in order to answer questions and refer calls. 

·Provided back-up secretarial support to the Provost, and head secretary for the Associate Provost.

·Initiated correspondence and reports involving routinely confidential matters, scheduled meetings, maintained calendars, and sorted/logged incoming mail. 

·Coordinated the Advisers Newsletter, which included requesting the information, editing, assembling, publishing and distribution. 

1990-95ISU Alumni Association

·Developed Access database of alumni volunteers and club leaders throughout the United States. Macros were used to generate reports and special queries upon request. 

·Prepared correspondence and made travel and speaking arrangements for ISU faculty, alumni, volunteers and public. 

·Prepared invitations for various presidential receptions and athletic events and recorded RSVPs. Prepared flyers, newsletters, etc. for the Association and its clubs. 

·Recommended and implemented spreadsheet for Alumni Association to present annual budget to Board of Directors. 

·Prepared minutes for various meetings as needed. 

·Looked up and queried data from alumni record system (ADIN). Downloaded results and prepared for Printing Service. 

·Tracked income and expenses on over 90 accounts within field services budget. 

·Assisted with pregame functions and other special events as needed. 

·Served on ISU Alumni Association 1995 Strategic Planning Committee and Benchmarking Committee.
