Currency devaluations are affecting more than 800 ISU students from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand. President Jischke approved a proposal allowing students impacted by the crisis to pay half their Spring 1998 tuition by June 30 and the balance when classes resume in Fall. GSB has passed a bill, "Lending a Hand to our International Students," to aid through additional scholarships. A help room was set up February 9-13 to assess the economic situations of international students impacted by the crisis. (Office of International Students and Scholars, 4-1120.)
