CEAH Student Poster Design CompetitionSubmission Deadline: TBAAward Announcement: TBA
The Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities (CEAH) invites submissions to a poster design competition. The competition is open to all ISU undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in the 09-10 academic year. The winning poster design will advertise the upcoming 10-11 CEAH annual programming series, Art in Society in print media locally, statewide, and nationally on the Center's website. The competition winner will receive an award of $300 for the design. The CEAH Steering Committee will announce the winning poster design
in early late March 2010. The winning designer will then work with the Center
staff to bring the poster design, with any revisions or modifications, to
completion by the end of the spring semester. Students interested in participating in this design competition should register with the Center by contacting us at 294-1594 or stopping by the CEAH office at 171 Carver Hall. Registration ensures your access to the information necessary for poster text. It does not mean you are required to submit a design.

The 10-11 CEAH programming series is titled, Art in Society. The poster design must reflect the content of the programming series which examines issues of art's influence on society and societal influences on art. Details on the programming series can be attained at the CEAH office.
1. The finished CEAH posters are 18x24 in size, portrait
layout, and with full-color, full-bleed printing.
Submission Guidelines and Rules: 1. The poster competition is open to all ISU undergraduate and graduate students enrolled for the academic year 2009-2010.2. Students may submit only one design. 3. All interested students should contact the Center to receive the required text files (see design guidelines). 4. Designs should be submitted digitally (save as jpeg file, should be 300 dpi). 5. Design submissions must be received in the CEAH office by TBA date to be considered. 6. An email cover letter including the student's name, home department, major, year of study (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate status), mailing address, email address, and phone number must be included with each submission. 7. A resume must be included. 8. Submissions will not be returned. The winning poster design will be rated by a panel of three judges appointed by the CEAH Director. Designs will be ranked from 1 to 5 with 5 as the top score. The design receiving the most points wins. The winning poster design will effectively communicate the CEAH programming series title and theme from a distance and draw the viewer in for a closer look. The winning poster will also promote easy readability of the series' descriptive paragraph and list of events.
The design contest winner will receive $300 for the design.
The award money will be paid upon completion of the poster design before the
end of spring semester 2010. |
