I received my B.S. degree in 2001 from the Department of chemistry at the University of Belgrade and my M.S. degree in December 2003, from the same University. I started my Ph.D. studies at ISU in January 2004.
I am currently working on the application of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN-s) as drug carriers. Drugs can be loaded in the mesopores of MSN-s and trapped with suitable caps (CdS nanoparticles, Fe3O4 nanoparticles, polymer etc.). It has been shown, by previous work in our group, that caps can be cleaved (drug released) by addition of various disulfide reducing agents. My current research interest is utilization of light irradiation, magnetic field or change in pH value for triggering the release of drug from MSN carriers.
