Procedures for accessing and utilizing useful software in the personal computer labs and on the Vincent system. Instruction in navigating the Iowa State backbone network and the internet system.

Computational Laboratory in FORTRAN

Solving engineering problems and presenting solutions through technical reports. Graphing and curve-fitting. Use of SI units. Significant figures. Flowcharting. Introduction to engineering economics and statistics. Solution of engineering problems using the FORTRAN language. The honors section includes applications of programming to mobile robotics.

Integration of fundamental graphics, computer modeling, and engineering design. Applications of multiview drawings and dimensioning. Techniques for visualizing, analyzing, and communicating 3-D geometries. Application of the design process including written and oral reports. Freehand and computer methods.
