Presentation of basic biological principles as well as topics and issues of current human interest. Non-majors only. Introduction to the nature of life, including the cellular basis of life; energy relationships; the nature of heredity; evolution; form and function of microbial, plant, and animal life; and principles of ecology. Fundamental concepts and principles of ecology dealing with organisms, populations, communities and ecosystems.
