The Budget and Planning area within the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost provides leadership and support for the Executive Vice President and Provost, who is responsible for overall budgeting and planning at Iowa State University.

Ellen Rasmussen serves as the Associate Vice President for Budget and Planning. She is responsible for and takes a leadership role in the development and implementation of institutional policies on budget, capital planning, budget model development and space and facilities.

She represents the interests of academic units as procedures and systems are developed for financial activity; space, facility and capital projects management; and human resource activity. In addition, she also serves as a liaison between the Executive Vice President and Provost and the President and academic units and other university offices.
