Hi, my name is Brandon Hancock, and I'm currently a junior here at Iowa State majoring in Agronomy with an emphasis in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology. I was born on March 22, 1986 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City and grew up around that region pretty much my entire life. I graduated in May of 2004 from Keota High School and joined the Marine Corps that summer spending the next year on active duty in various places in the US. In the spring of 2005, I came back home and started working for my dad at Monsanto with the Discovery Corn Breeding Team. With the group's insight and the friendly environment that I found at work I decided that this is something that I might want to do for the rest of my life. I've been here at Iowa State for six semesters (one of which was taken off for an internship) and have enjoyed every minute of it, except the last minute cram sessions! The people you meet and the new experiences make college an enjoyable experience. Someday, I hope to live somewhere else, out East maybe, working towards becoming a Ag economists and Security Analyst for some company or a successful breeder. A little more about me: Sometimes I'm shy and quiet and other times I'm just the opposite; depends on the day I guess! I love meeting people though, regardless of the day, and I just like to have fun! I love sports (esp. football), the outdoors, traveling, having an adventure, and hanging out with friends. |
