Dr. Brian K. Hornbuckle

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy (in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences), the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (in the College of Engineering), and the Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences (in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences) at The Iowa State University of Science and Technology.

I use microwave remote sensing to measure the water content of soil and vegetation in agricultural ecosystems. These measurements are compared with models that predict the cycling of water and energy among the soil, vegetation, and atmosphere. Please see my research page to learn more about my work.

Through the years I have had many great experiences that I would like to promote.

I am very proud of my family which consists of my wife Jalene (Miller) Hornbuckle, daughter Amaris, son Malachi, and daughter Eliana.
