Natural Science is the biggest thing I'm interested in. That's why I have chosen my major to be Chemistry here at Iowa State. As I gain more and more knowledge of chemistry, I hope to get involved in undergrad research. The chemistry research at Iowa State is one of the best around. This institution is a Research 1 school, meaning there is a lot of research over many different topics, and professors must bring in their own money for the research. It is very competitive. Outside of the classroom, I am involved in S.CU.M. (The Society of Chemistry Undergrad Majors). This organization helps to promote chemistry on campus, as well as off campus in the community and lower level schools.

When I am not doing chemistry, I am involved in music. I play the saxophone in many ensembles here at ISU, but my favorite is the marching band/pep band. We get the crowd enthusiastic about the football and basketball games while enjoying it ourselves.
