Research Interests:

My general research interest evolves around the application of advanced detectors to search for new phenomena in particle astrophysics and particle physics. Currently I work with the Whipple Observatory Collaboration measuring TeV gamma-rays (10**12 eV) from various astrophysical sources such as Blazars (gamma-ray emitting BL Lacertae objects), Super Nova Remnants, Plerions and diffuse gamma-radiation originating from the galactic plane. The exploration of the relativistic universe at E > 300 GeV has been dramatically advanced in the past few years by demonstrating the power of the imaging Cherenkov technique for the study of individual sources by the Whipple Observatory Collaboration.

Furthermore, I am involved in the design and development of the new ground-based gamma-ray observatory "VERITAS" (Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System). This project is meant to be the major ground-based counterpart to complement the sensitivity of satellite-based gamma-ray experiments like "GLAST" at energies E > 50 GeV.

Further Information can be found in the Whipple Observatory web page.
