PART II: ESSAY (25 points): Answer the question on this sheet only
It is possible that the Big Bang theory for the origin of our Universe is the
most astonishing accomplishment in the history of astronomy.
In this essay, we want you to defend the Big Bang theory by

explaining the key observation made in the first half of the 20th century
that led to the theory that the Unvierse has evolved from a hotter, denser
state, and
- discussing two additional distinct and independent observations that
support the Big Bang theory. For full credit, for each of the two
observations you must
- describe exactly what is observed, and how the observations are made,
and
- describe how that observation addresses or relates to the Big Bang
theory
