Welcome to my webpage! I am a Graduate Student majoring in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology and minoring in Genetics , in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Organizmal Biology (EEOB). I am co-advised by Dr. Fredric Janzen, whose lab works with ecological and evolutionary questions, primarily in reptilian systems, and Dr. Karin Dorman, whose lab is interested in developing statistical methods for genetics. I am currently working on the population genetics and phylogeography of the Emydoidea blandingii, whilst looking at developing techniques and tools for testing migratory hypotheses and phylogenomics. My research interests include Population genetics, Phylogeography, Sequence Analysis and Graph Theory. You can find a detailed list of my projects and publications in the links on the left. - -
I previously worked as a Junior Research Associate with the Knowledge Engineering Research Center at the Software Engineering and Technology Labs, Infosys Technologies Limited, Bangalore. Am an ardent reader of fiction; my favourites being Margaret Atwood, David Mitchell and Rohinton Mistry, among a whole bunch of others. I’ve also been writing fiction since I don’t know when; you can find some of my stuff on my blog of short fiction at http://wordsworthless.blogspot.com I also love music, tea, movies, quizzing, traveling, long treks, dogs, channel surfing, comics, noise and weird dreams.
