blight is one of the most frustrating and devastating apple diseases
in Midwestern orchards.
This disease is difficult to manage because
very little is known about the bacteria that cause it.
Few resistant varieties exist, thus the most
important method for control is streptomycin sprays. The use of
weather-based disease-prediction models to time these sprays can
reduce the number of sprays. One currently-used model is called
MaryBlyt. |
