Education Background

I attended high school at Valley
Community School District in northeastern Iowa. I graduated with a class of 50
students, most of whom I met on my first day of preschool. Throughout high school,
I was involved in many different activities.

Athletics were a very important
part of my high school career. I was a
varsity athlete in cross country, basketball, track and field, and softball. My
biggest accomplishment through my athletic career was winning the 1A State
Cross Country Team Championship my sophomore year.

I also was active in many student
organizations. I really enjoyed being a student council representative and
helping plan events such as Homecoming and our annual blood drive. I was also involved with our volunteer group,
Peer Helpers and Students Okay without Drugs or Alcohol.

I am currently a junior at Iowa
State University. I am working towards
my undergraduate degree in mathematics as well as attaining a certificate in
community leadership and public service.
I plan to graduate next May. I am also planning on attend graduate
school to study higher education and student affairs.

Along with my course load, I
enjoy being active as a student leader on campus. I am currently the Vice President of the
Student Alumni Leadership Council and the VEISHEA 2010 Parade Co-Chair. I am also a peer mentor for the Program for
Women in Science and Engineering and a Conference Manager for Department of
Residence Conference Services.
