Anne's current research interests focus on enhancing listening comprehension through CALL technologies. She is currently an instructor for Iowa State's communications course for second-year students.

Anne has taught a variety of ESL courses at Iowa State, including writing, reading, listening and speaking, and has also taught both traditional and cross-cultural first- and second-year composition courses.

In addition to language teaching, Anne has designed online materials for the English Listening Lounge and conducted introductory workshops on CALL for graduate and undergraduate students at Iowa State, as well as for language teachers at EUROCALL. She has presented academic papers on vocabulary acquisition, CALL effectiveness, podcasting, and CMC software at TESOL, CALICO, and EUROCALL, and has published in TESOL's Essential Teacher, TESL-EJ, ReCALL and CALICO Journal.
