This final project is to complete the model and then get it professionally presented. Here you will see the completed model with drawings that were exported from Revit and Perspective rendering.
Through a whole semester of learning Revit building the Smith House. I learned a lot about model building techniques especially the topography model. The Smith House is a good building to start with. It doesn't have that much use of materials so I can pay more attention on the details and the renderings. The unique topography that the building loctes on has been a big challenge for me but I believe I also practiced a lot though this process.
The course helped me understand Revit better. I started to do the things that I never actually did before like create a new family and type, adding light fixture, using the room legend and so on. It helped me discover mutiple functions of Revit that I never tried before. I think with all the things I learned from this semester and this big project, I can do a better job on the digital modeling and presentation for my projects in the future.
The Revit System is a good tool to present designer's idea. However, I feel like it's not really a good choice for a designing process considering about its complex way to create massing models, which makes it really hard for designers to get a volume in an irregular shape compare with Sketchup.
