Teaching Evaluations

What is it like to take one of my courses? Here is what undergraduate ISU students of the past few years have said about their experience.

The Mathematics Department encourages instructors to administer a Teaching Evaluation questionnaire to each class. The questionnaire consists of a dozen statements of the agree/disagree variety with responses to be marked on cards and scored by computer, together with a space for anonymous written comments. Results are provided to the instructor after final grades have been reported for the course.

Below are the written comments from my undergraduate courses of the past few years. The original spelling and punctuation have been faithfully preserved. (In a few cases, comments that pertained exclusively to the textbook were omitted, and comments were edited to delete material that might identify the writer.)
