Session title: Introducing rapid e-learning tools: Articulate Engage by Yasemin Demiraslan.

Yasemin Demiraslan entered the doctoral program at Iowa State University, Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology in Fall 2006. And she started doing co-major in Human-Computer Interaction department in Spring 2007. Prior to that, she was a research assistant in Computer Education and Instructional Technology Department at Hacettepe University (HU), in Turkiye. During her MS study at HU, she was involved in many research studies aiming at investigating primary school teachers' situation in the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into teaching-learning process.

 

The two major areas of interest that she would like to focus on are attention and navigation design in online learning environments. Currently, she is working as a research assistant in Teachers' Education Goes into Virtual Schooling project with Dr Davis, Director of Center for Technology in Learning and Teaching.

For the short term after she receives her degree, she hopes to use her professionally developed skills and competencies to provide students with first-hand international experience presented in an academic context while working as an academician at Hacettepe University . As for the long term, she hopes to conduct top-notch research on evolving issues and trends in instructional technology in order to contribute to the systemic school reform in Turkiye.
