Dr. Correia has a wealth of experiences in instructional technology having served as an instructional designer for Eli Lilly & Co., a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company and most recently working as Assistant Professor in Curriculum and Instructional Technology at Iowa State University. She has 16 years of teaching experience at both college and K-12 level. She taught science for five years at several Portuguese K-12 schools and educational technology and curriculum development in the teacher education program offered by the University of Minho.

Her major research interests are computer-supported collaborative learning, design of educational environnments, and evaluation and assessment of educational products and interventions.
