3.2.3 Recognizing and Rewarding Good Teaching

The value that Iowa State University places on effective instruction is evident in the numerous university and college awards that recognize and promote good teaching. This commitment is further underscored in the 2005-2010 Strategic Plan, which includes the goals of developing, recognizing, and rewarding excellent teaching and enhancing the visibility of outstanding faculty members and staff. Similarly, the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is focused on supporting, promoting, and enhancing teaching effectiveness and student learning. CELT also seeks to sustain a university culture that recognizes and rewards both scholarly teaching and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
