Educational Background…
I
grew up in Des Moines, Iowa
and attended Garton Elementary, Goodrell
Middle School, and North High School.
I began
my college journey three years, three majors, and a hundred miles ago at the University of Iowa. Not really knowing what degree I
wanted to attain, I started out as a Journalism and Mass Communication major; I
loved my journalism class in high school after all.
Once I figured out that I didn’t
want to have to claw my way into the industry, I switched my major to Social
Work. One day I was feeling a little ambitious and decided to add a second major:
Communication. All was good and
well until I hit another wall. The School
of Social Work was a
competitive program you apply to for which I fell short of the standards.
Still
wanting to be in a helping profession, I chose to transfer to Iowa State University in the fall of 2007 in hopes
of discovering a new path of education. I immediately claimed the Child, Adult,
and Family Services major with the Child option.
