I favor post-tenure review.

I think it important protection for the faculty member. It could be an significant offset to a biased, negative DEO review.

I do think, however, that any peer review committee should have at least one member from outside the department. I think also that the faculty member being reviewed should be allowed to select at least one member of the peer review committee. I think these should be mandated in the Faculty Handbook. They would be important protections to assure a fair process.
