Brief Calculus: Solving Problems in Business, Economics, and the Social and Behavioral Sciences, second edition, by Bill Armstrong and Don Davis.
Course Topics:
Here is a tentative outline of the topics I plan to cover in this
course. I may not cover every section in each of the chapters.
- Chapter 1: Functions, Models, and Average Rate of Change
- Chapter 2: Limits, Instantaneous Rate of Change, and the Derivative
- Chapter 3: Applications of the Derivative
- Chapter 4: Additional Differentiation Techniques
- Chapter 5: Further Applications of the Derivative
- Chapter 6: Integral Calculus
- Chapter 7: Applications of Integral Calculus
- Chapter 8: Calculus of Several Variables
