The Dutch Union Cataloge of Agricultural Books and Periodicals contains "...bibliographic data on the collections of more than 70 Dutch libraries with substantial collections on agriculture." It is the core of the AGRALIN system, the Agricultural Bibliographic Information System of the Netherlands. The catalog's main menu allows for two forms of searching. The first is activated by filling in provided search fields, which are: subject code (UDC); title word(s); author(s); year of publication; and library acronym. For users lacking a UDC code or library acronym, the site provides links to receive this information. A second searching method occurs through submitting only the title of the journal. This information then activates a search through the catalog's index of periodicals.
Electronic links within the menu allow users to access: general catalog information, the participating libraries listing, document delivery information, and the AGRALIN homepage.
The site is maintained by the Jan Kops House in Wageningen; the Wageningen Agricultural University, Netherlands.
Submit information within searching fields at top of menu. Or scroll to end of main menu and submit title of journal to activate search.

"Rain forests are rapidly being cleared in the humid tropics to keep pace with food demands, economic needs, and population growth. Without proper management, these forests and other natural resources will be seriously depleted within the next 50 years." This book "...provides critically needed direction for developing strategies that both mitigate land degradation, deforestation, and biological resource losses and help the economic status of tropical countries through promotion of sustainable agricultural practices. The book includes: (1) a practical discussion of 12 major land use options for boosting food production and enhancing local economies while protecting the natural resource base; (2) recommendations for developing technologies needed for sustainable agriculture; (3) a strategy for changing policies that discourage conserving and managing natural resources and biodiversity; and (4) detailed reports on agriculture and deforestation in seven tropical countries."
