Abkurzungen chemischer Verbindungen/ Abbreviations of Chemical Comounds is a bilingual site of the Freie Universitat (FU Berlin), Free University, located in Berlin, and is an information source of the university's Department of Chemistry. A division of the FU Berlin CHEMNet WWW site, this source offers information on chemical compounds through a search built on chemical abbreviations.
At the top of the site's main page is a keyword search field, where users should type in the abbreviation of a chemical compound. Results of searches will be a page, reflecting possible matches. For each noted compound, the following is featured: (1) abbreviation; (2) chemical name; (3) chemical formula; and (4) additional information on the chemical name.
At the bottom of the site's main page are both English and German language links to the CHEMNet acronym database. The site is sponsored by the Department of Chemistry; FU Berlin; Germany.
