Selected Water Resources Abstracts is the "...HTML interface to the fielded
data within the U.S. Geological Survey Selected Water Resources Abstracts,
from 1939 to current." Users "may enter general search query terms or mix a
general query with specific field searches." Through this site, the user
has access to a searchable database of all U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)
publications on water resources.
At the top of the site's main page are links to the U.S. Geological Survey
homepage, the complete files of abstracts collected since July 1994, and
query syntax aid and searching tips. Below this area is the database and
its search fields. Users can specify searches through keywords, title,
author, and citation fields, as well as specifying the number of matching

The Encyclopedia of Water Terms is a service of the Texas Environmental
Center (TEC), " ...a nonprofit organization extending environmental
through information technology." TEC has been a pioneer in the use of the
Internet and joined in a partnership with Rice University to produce one of
the first electronic environmental libraries in the United States.
Currently, TEC manages WWW projects and runs an "...advanced bulletin board
system for environmental education programs."
At the top of the site's main page is a link to the TEC homepage. Below this
area is an alphabetical index; selecting a letter category then reveals its
complete listings, in the form of a glossary of water terminology. Users
should scroll to view a category's contents; each term is featured with a
one to six sentence definition.

Glossary of Terms presents definitions "...excerpted from the 1993 edition
of the Water Quality Association Glossary of Terms," written by
Joseph Harrison and Wes McGowan. The original glossary contains all of the
definitions within this site, as well as nineteen appendices, including,
"...conversion tables, water purity standards, and regulatory information."
