Summary:
This site is the homepage for the Forest Action News, a publication
of the Forests, Trees, and People Program. This organization is sponsored
by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), the Food and
Agriculture Organization (FAO), and regional facilitators in Africa, Asia
Latin America, and North America. The publication is a "...networking tool
designed to facilitate information exchange/sharing between different actors
in the field of forestry."
The site's creators encourage letters and articles from anyone interested in
the "sustainable management of natural resources," particularly of trees and
forests. Users can search the publication through its main menu, choosing
an issue number to view the contents therein. By selecting a title within
the issue, the user can then view the article's contents.
The site is maintained by the Forests, Trees, and People Program, and its
subdivision, the Forest Action Network, located in Nairobi, Kenya.

Summary:
The Forests, Trees, and People Newsletter is a publication of the
Forests, Trees, and People Program (FTP), sponsored by the Swedish
University of
Agricultural Sciences and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). It
is a quarterly publication "...distributed to field projects, institutions,
organizations, and individuals interested in and/or working with community
forestry activities." The newsletter is part of the FTP's networking
activities, "...designed to share information about improved methods of
planning and strengthening community forestry activities and about on-going
or planned initiatives of potential interest to its members."
The publication encourages parties to contribute to the text and offers its
text in English, French, and Spanish. Within the main menu, addresses are
provided for contact groups when choosing to subscribe. To view the site's
offerings, users select an issue number displayed at the top of the site's
page. The contents of that particular issue are revealed, and selecting a
title accesses that article's contents.
