IA-TWS Meetings and Programs

In 1979 the chapter began holding its annual fall meeting with other Iowa conservation organizations. The first two were held jointly with meetings of the Iowa Wildlife Federation in 1979 and 1980. In 1981, 1982 and 1983 the Iowa Chapter meetings were held concurrently with those of the Iowa Association of County Conservation Boards. In 1985, the Chapter began holding a spring meeting dedicated to workshops and continuing education. The annual business meeting continues to be held in the fall often as a joint meeting with other conservation groups. A list of sponsored programs follows:

	2005 - February-Ames: "Iowa's Wildlife Diversity" (Joint meeting with the Iowa Chapter of the American Fisheries Society) Meeting Program (PDF File)
	2004 - October-Ames: "Making Forests Work for People and Wildlife" (Joint meeting with the Iowa Society of American Foresters)
	2004 - March-Ames: Held in conjunction with the Errington Memorial Lecture. Dr. James Estes talked about "Large Carnivores and Nature's balance"
	2003 - October-Decorah: "Poisonous Snakes of the Region"
	2003 - February-Dubuque: Tri-State Meeting with sessions on “Current Research, Bird Plans, Mississippi River Topics, and Chronic Wasting Disease” (Sponsored jointly with Illinois and Wisconsin Chapters).
	2002 - October-Ames: “Wildlife Diseases Workshop” (Sponsored jointly with I.S.U. Student Chapter and conducted by Dr. Grace McLaughlin, National Wildlife Health Center and Dr. Dale Garner, Iowa DNR).
	2001 - December-Des Moines: Met in conjunction with Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference.
	2001 - January-Ames: Joint meeting with Iowa Chapter of the American Fisheries Society.
	2000 - October-Ames: "Invasive Plants & Animals in Iowa, A Symposium" (Meeting held in conjunction with this symposium hosted by the Iowa Academy of Science)
	1999 - June-Mt. Ayr: "Grassland Birds and Bird Conservation Areas"
	1998 - October-Decorah: "Invasive Species"
	1998 - January-Ames: "Current Research in Wildlife and Related Fields"
