Brochure

Due Date: February 12th

This three-panel brochure can be on any subject you want. In fact, the text can be lorem ipsum filler as long as the main theme can be discerned from the headers and graphics. The main purpose of this assignment is to pull together the earlier typsetting and grid design lessons into a common document project in InDesign.

In preparation for this assignment, be sure to read this article on panel dimensions of a three-panel brochure, as well as this factsheet from ISU Print Services.

Submitting Work

You should create a zipped folder called "lastname-brochure," which should include the following items:

  • Your InDesign package folder, including all fonts and graphics.
  • A PDF "press" version of your document.
  • A one-page cover memo in Word or PDF outlining some of the design features of your document and your rationale for using certain colors and fonts.

Additionally, you should hand me in class a completed Request for Quotation form, photocopied from pages 179-180 of Getting It Printed.

Using Images

Though we won't cover how to place graphic images in InDesign documents before this assignment is due, I would encourage you to use images in this document, though they don't have to be print resolution for this assignment; they can be images harvested for practice purposes off the Web.

If you have any questions about this assignment, please let me know in class.
