Second Exam

This exam will cover the second six weeks of class material, including the following topics:

• Color
• Graphics
• Books, TOCs, and Indexing
• Binding & Finishing Techniques

Readings to review in preparation for the test include:

  • Chapter 5 - Working in Color

  • Chapter 6 - Fills, Strokes, and Effects
  • Chapter 8 - Imported Graphics

• Getting It Printed, pp. 26-43 and 150-167
• Print Service’s factsheet on Digital Imaging for Print Media
• Color Management Resources

The format of the exam will include an unspecified number of the following:

• Multiple choice questions. Hint: pattern or random answers do not help.
• Identification questions, in which you are given a term and you must supply a specific definition.
• A special surprise ending that will allow you to demonstrate your superior knowledge of the above subjects.

As with the first test, you can do well by simply reviewing your class notes and the readings assigned during the second six weeks of the class. Perhaps I'm expecting too much, but I'm assuming you've actually taken notes and read the texts prior to the week of the exam. This seems to help most students.
