2. Reading and Writing
Tuesday
Activities will include:
- My returning the memos you wrote in class last Thursday. Then we'll talk about any problems you're having with your interviews of a technical professional.
- Another in-class writing exercise in which you will describe your regular writing process for completing a document. But there will be a surprise twist we'll talk about in class!
- After class, download invention and exploration software @ http://www.inspiration.com.
- Discussion of Chapters 7 & 8 and summary lecture about the various ways in which different people approach the writing process. Though everyone has a unique style and process by which they write documents, a similar theme runs throughout they different styles that provide a great deal of insight into how to successfully complete a writing project.
- Collaborative assessment of the types of logic used in various statements.
Thursday
Activities will include:
- Logging into Novell Netware to submit your interview reports and discussion of the upcoming website analysis. This is how I operate—when you submit one assignment, we immediately discuss the next one so you can start planning head.
- An in-class computer exercise on how to create a Gantt chart using an Excel spreadsheet. Download this Excel starter file and follow the directions on the handout I give you.
- Discussion of Chapter 3 of various reading strategies to help you in school and in your future career.
- Collaborative exercise about the differences between reading paper and online documents.
