Welcome to the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail web site hosted for the Partnership for the National Trails System. The interest in Lewis and Clark is growing at an exponential rate as the bicentennial celebration of 2004-2006 approaches. This web site will help launch you into literally thousands of sites devoted to this subject.

Research resources on the web are very limited but they will continue to grow as we approach the bicentennial. The following is a partial list:

• Lewis and Clark Historic Marker near Pollock, SD   Lewis and Clark Historic Marker is registered with the National Park Service and is located along South Dakota Highway 1804 on Lake Oahe near Pollock South Dakota. Lewis and Clark visited north central South Dakota and the Pollock area in the fall of 1804. Text of this marker describes some of Lewis and Clark's activities in the Pollock area.
