Animals that are purchased for research use must be approved by Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) prior to purchase. Research animals require a log number from LAR for tracking purposes. Livestock purchases do not require a log number prior to purchase. All animals must be purchased on a requisition to Purchasing.
