Grading Policy:

Grading Scale: 90-100%: A
                              80-89%: B
                              70-79%: C
                              60-69%: D
                                0-59%: F
Plus-minus grades will be given at the discretion of the instructor. There maybe a curve at the end of the semester.


Homework and Quizzes: There will be a 20-30 min. quiz every Friday. To prepare yourself for the quizzes, you should solve the suggested homework. Quizzes will be based on these problems. No homework will be collected. The suggested homework will give you an idea what I expect you to know for the exams too. You will write 11 quizzes, each worth 20 points. Your 10 best scores will count for your final grade. See below for the homework problems.

Exams: There will be two noncomprehensive midterm exams. The topics for each of them will be announced in advance. The departmental final exam will be comprehensive.

Calculator: A calculator is recommended for this class. However, you should show all your work in the quizzes and exams. No credit will be given  for answers without work.
